![]() ![]() Updated August 14, 2022, by Tom Bowen: Almost a full year has passed since the release of Far Cry 6, yet there's still no word on when exactly fans can expect a sequel. Above all else, these amazing antagonists have their own distinct demeanors and behaviors, helping to make every Far Cry game and its respective villains feel truly unique. Ubisoft has never fallen short when it comes to creating compelling villains for its Far Crygames, with each one vastly different than the rest. RELATED: The Witcher 3: The Best Villains In The Game, Ranked Far Cry 3 has the insane Vaas, Far Cry 4 has the charming Pagan Min, and Far Cry 5 has the Seed Family. In the Far Cryseries, villains are what the games are really known for. It is for this reason that a good villain can sometimes determine a game's success. Here’s hoping, though, that if Michael Mando is actually referring to another Far Cry game or film project in which Far Cry 3’s iconic villain is due to appear, we get to know more about it soon enough. In narrative-driven video games, it's often conflict that makes the journey worthwhile. A TV show based on the Far Cry Blood Dragon game is in the works, even if the character of Vaas does not feature in the game as that is a futuristic spin-off of Far Cry 3 with a completely different setting and characters. There’s another possibility though, and it has to do with the fact that Ubisoft had the intention of making a movie based on the Far Cry games ( let’s not mention 2008’s distrastrous effort), but nothing new has been heard about it for a few years. And it’s pretty unlikely that Far Cry 3 is getting remade any time soon, as it already got a remaster in 2018 (see here for a review). Plus, there’s also the fact that Vaas gets killed at some point in Far Cry 3, meaning any other game he appears in would have to be a prequel of sorts to the 2012 game. The thing is Ubisoft likely has another Far Cry game in development right now, so maybe Mando could be referring to playing Vaas in this upcoming Far Cry instalment? This seems unlikely as each major Far Cry entry has featured new characters and settings and independent storylines… The exception to this being the console spin-offs of the original Far Cry (which brought back main character Jack Carver from the first game) and Far Cry New Dawn, which continued the story of the best-selling Far Cry 5 last year. Who knows… maybe I will reprise the role very soon? :p Thank you for watching xo”, added the Canadian actor. “I still get recognized as Vaas, and I still feel the outpouring of love for that character – makes me very happy. “Thank you so much! Vaas is my spirit animal – having co-created that character is something that will always be dear to me”, said Mando. Mando’s comments came in a Reddit AMA (the latter word standing for “Ask Me Anything”) at the prompting of one fan, who asked him about whether he’s recognized more as Vaas these days or as his character in the US TV series Better Call Saul. It’s arguably the best game in Ubisoft’s storied Far Cry series and one of the top games of the last decade too, so it’s likely quite a few fans were excited when actor Michael Mando recently mentioned him playing Vaas “very soon”, as was recently reported on VG247. ![]() Actually, his “meaning of insanity” speech in one of Far Cry 3’s cutscenes is one of the most memorable in a game so far. In case you never got to play Far Cry 3, Vaas is the game’s main villain (and also one of the top antagonists in a video game to date) a character which was wonderfully brought to life by actor Michael Mando in the game. And the character of Vaas Montenegro surely helped make Far Cry 3 an even more memorable experience. Far Cry 3 was one of 2012’s top games: its mix of exciting first-person action, great characters and story won it many accolades that year. ![]()
